Community Sport Coach Workshop

ABOUT
This module will introduce you to the fundamentals of football with a recreational focus. The workshop is aimed at coaches working with youths, between 6-12 years of age, where fun, fitness, and participation are key. The skills you will learn are ideal for voluntary coaches who have children who participate in football, or who wish to assist participants of all ages who are new to the sport.

Taking this workshop will give you skills and confidence in the following key areas:

 

  • Practice Planning

  • How to Make Ethical Decisions

  • Fundamental technical football skills

  • The workshop is taught both in class and in gym/on field. It will take approximately 4 hours (if online materials are completed beforehand) or 8 hours (if online materials are not completed).

In order to be trained as a Community Sport Coach you are required to complete an online e-learning module and classroom course:

E-Learning - Community Sport

This online tool prepares you for the Community Sport workshop/clinic.With this tool, you will receive:

*Access to the electronic edition of “Novice Coach” Reference Manual;

*The necessary information to prepare you to participate in a “provincially” offered *instructional workshop on becoming a football coach;

*Interactive instruction on various areas of the game;

*You will be able to assess your knowledge of the information provided in preparation for the workshop;

*one year’s access to coaching tools that will be available to you through this site;

*on-line Registration access to the “Novice Coach” clinics being offered in your province.

Community Coach Workshop (In-class)

The skills learned are ideal for voluntary coaches who have children who participate in football or who wish to assist participants of all ages who are new to the sport.
